The Ministry of Agriculture launched, through the directives of His Excellency the Minister, Engineer Abbas Jabr Al-Alaywi, and through the Department of Livestock. This was stated in a news item published on the ministry's media website. The news also indicated that the launch took place under the supervision of the Director General of the Animal Wealth Department, the Assistant Director General for Fish Affairs, and the Director of the Hatcheries Department. The news stated that the Department of Livestock/Al-Maimonah Fish Hatchery in Maysan Governorate – Iraq, and with the blessing of God Almighty, today and on 4/3/2023, launched the third batch of common carp fish swimmers, with a number of (8,600,000) eight million six hundred thousand swimmers, and the launch took place in Hor. Potatoes in Maysan Governorate, under the supervision and presence of the launch committee from the Department of Animal Wealth, and in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Maysan Agriculture Directorate, and a number of hatchery employees.
