A research team at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra, consisting of Dr. (Wasfi Aboud Al-Masoudi), Dr. (Nawras Abd Al-Ilah Alwan), the teacher (Muhannad Hassan Lafta) and Professor (Harith Yarub) obtained a patent to enable them to prepare a new compound developed from the pyrimidine compound and study its effect On clinical chemical parameters in laboratory rabbits induced high level of fat extracted from field buffalo.This was confirmed by the media of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra, and indicated that the patent included the preparation of a new compound that was diagnosed using spectral methods and accurate elemental analysis, and the analyzes proved the validity of the chemical composition of the new compound and tested its effectiveness in reducing the level of fats.The university website praised that the new compound showed its effectiveness in reducing the level of fat in male laboratory rabbits dosed with fat extracted from buffalo bones, then the prepared compound was treated, and a highly significant decrease was observed in blood lipid profiles compared to a drug that reduces lipid levels, atorvastatin. Thus, the prepared derivative is considered as a proposed drug to reduce lipid levels .<\/p>\n<\/div>
