The World Animal Health Organization, #woah, has published the final version of the recommendations and calls for action that came out of the World Conference on Emergency Management it organized. The summary of the report includes the following points:1- Fills gaps in multisectoral and international cooperation to mitigate biological threats.2- Recognizing the benefits of investing in emergency management capacity for the benefit of the veterinary services.3- Enhancing the effective relationship between health and other sectors.4- Enhancing efforts for the purpose of adopting a comprehensive and sustainable approach to all emergency management risks.5- Ensuring fair and easy access to scientific data and evidence.6- The importance of the process of mobilizing all resources, determining their priorities, and determining their recipients.7- Modernizing emergency management by anticipating new challenges, including cyber security, disinformation, and misleading information.And the World Conference on Emergency Management WOAH, was held in Paris at the beginning of this April, and included multiple sectors together to discuss emergency situations involving or affecting animals. The purpose of the conference was to highlight that emergency preparedness needs to take an all-risk approach, and to show how it can be done. The conference also bridged the gap between animal health and safety by highlighting how these sectors can support each other in emergency management. More than 400 people participated in the conference, including delegates from OIE members, emergency management experts, national law enforcement representatives, relevant international and regional organizations, donors and stakeholders, and those who have a common interest in this collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/div>
